Summer's Almost Over

Can you believe it. Where did it all go. Oh wait, I know... we were traveling all summer. Well we're finished for a little while at least. The past few days it's gotten down into the 50s over night and only into the 70s during the day. It's actually been very nice. Not too humid and the temperature is perfect. Not too hot and not too cold. It's too bad this kind of temperature is usually the shortest season of all.

We all had a great time this past weekend visiting all the relatives. Nathan visited with his puppy for a while. I think Susie was glad to see Matt and I but not really Shorty. She stayed out of his way. But he had a great time running around the yard and getting her to run as well. We went on a train ride that could have been a disaster but Nathan and Connor did very well (it was delayed and didn't start until over an hour later, way after they should have had lunch). We got to see Aunt Lucy's house almost finished and the boys had a wonderful time chasing each other around the upstairs.

Then we came to CT. The car ride up was interesting. About halfway up one of them decided to see how loud his voice could get. Then the other just HAD to join in. We'd tell one to stop then the other would start and back and forth. Let's just say we were glad to be out of the car. Nathan also got car sick so we were doubly glad to be out of the car. But this feeding off each other happened all weekend. One would do something, then the other would do it and back and forth. Sometimes it was cute playing things, sometimes it was getting in trouble. I have a new found respect for parents of multiples. It almost seems like they they are tag teaming you, always keeping you on your toes. We had a great time though. The boys really played with each other, more than they have in the past. Both are pretty confident about walking and running now so they can just have a great time.

Nathan has three molars pushing through and the fourth is going to push through any day now. And the funny thing is, they don't seem to bother him now. The first two bothered him but this next batch just seem to be appearing. Maybe it's because he was so distracted playing this weekend that he didn't even notice that his teeth were hurting. It seems that boredom is the driving force for getting in trouble or complaining about teeth. The minute the boys would be bored with playing they would go and find something they knew they weren't supposed to do. If we took them outside or somewhere new in the house they were content to play for a while. As soon as things got boring again though, watch out. I'll have to remember this boredom thing for years to come. Nothing good comes of it.

I'm sure I'm missing a ton of things we did the weekend but I've got to get to work. Have a great rest of the day
