Yesterday I was in a major cleaning spree. In the morning we cleaned up the kids bedrooms and I spent the entire afternoon taking all the seats out of the car, cleaning it and carpet shampooing it. When I was helping nicholas clean his room we started trying to go through his books and realized that our old method of storage (a basket) for his books was no longer sufficient. So matt stopped at walmart and bought a $15 bookshelf (damn you Walmart you win again). We put it together last night and put his books on it. It has three shelves and each one of them is halfway to 2/3rds full. Last night Nicholas and I were talking about his bookshelf in bed.
Nicholas: Mommy, you need to put books on my xmas list for santa.
M; Ok, how many books?
N: (Holds up both hands) This many. And if the book shelf fills up you need to get me another book shelf.
M: Are you just going to have bookshelves all over the room? Are you going to be like daddy and have a lot of books?
N: Daddy has a lot of books? Where are they?
M: Well some of them are in his office downstairs and some of them are at his work office. And a whole lot of them are in boxes because we just don't have room for all of them.
N: Well we have to get them out. How does daddy read them if they are in boxes?
M: (Thinking that matt has planted this conversation in his son's head) He can get them out when he needs them and then put them away again.
He is his father's son.
