Nesting

On Sunday we all headed to Target because I was determined to organize something in the house. You see, when you are pregnant you get this overwhelming urge to get the house into shape for the new arrival. And this has started for me. We need to get the piano and the elliptical trainer out of the family room and clean off the book shelves. Then we need to rearrange the room and move the computer and desk down from the office upstairs. Then we need to clean up that office and move or store everything and convert it back into a bedroom for our next arrival. Unfortunately the majority of the stuff that needs to be done is heaving lifting and moving, which matt can not do by himself. We have family planning on coming up to give us a hand but in the mean time it's driving me CRAZY that I can't do anything to speed up the process. Hence the need to organize something.

So on Sunday we went and bought this 8 cubicle storage unit thing that you can put these cute little fabric boxes in. It's nothing expensive and if we ever get a bigger house, it's something that would go in a play room and not our living room, but since our living room acts as a playroom now, that's where it is. During nathan's 3 hour nap, Matt put the unit together and I went through all of his toys in the living room (where most of his toys are) and sorted them by theme into each of the boxes. I found ALL of the puzzle pieces and organized his books. This took almost all of this nap time but it was soo worth it. Now Nathan has started playing with toys he didn't even know he had becuase they were at the bottom of some pile somewhere. Plus our new rule (at least for the past two days) has been that he can only have two of the fabric boxes out at a time. If he wants to play with something from a different box he needs to put something else away first. So far it's been working. He's pretty cute pulling out the boxes to look at what's in them until he finds what he was looking for. I think i can be cool on the house rearranging after I got this bit out of my system. For a little while at least
