It snowed today. Probably not more than an inch or so. But it was pretty. The snow was very wet and compacted really well. This morning we went to breakfast and then to pick out our tree. The tree cutting place is about 20 minutes away. Of course, since Nathan had been up since 6 in the morning, he fell asleep in the car. Luckily Grammy was there to stay in the car with him. We picked out a tree fairly quickly, probably because we were still getting snowed on. We actually got the tree mostly decorated while Nathan was awake... again thanks to Grammy for distracting him while we decorated.
Later on I felt obliged to take Nathan outside for his first snow of the season. So we bundled all up (which in itself took about 15 minutes) and headed outside. He ran around for a little while and discovered that snow is slippery. And then discovered that when you have all that padding on, you don't feel a thing when you fall but it makes it very very difficult to get back up. He was pretty much doing a split at one point trying to get himself back up. He eventually learned that he needed to crawl over to something sturdy and pull himself up that way because he just wasn't getting up any other way. We stayed outside for about 20 minutes... just long enough to take some pictures and get wet.
All in all a great way to end the weekend.
