I had originally planned to spend all day at Hollywood studios on Thursday. We needed to be there in the morning for toy story, mid afternoon for some of the shows, 4PM for dinner reservations and 9pm for Fantasmic! After that AK day with no break we decided we would never make it all day with no break. So Wednesday morning we did some of the rides. Thursday we swam in the morning ate lunch at the hotel and got to the park around 12:30. Here are some pictures from the hotel that we took before we headed out.
Mom wasn't feeling so good so she agreed to meet us a little later. We got in and went directly to Lights Motor Action. Some people were making fun of me for getting there early but we got really good seats. The boys were a little anxious (especially nicholas over loud sounds) but once it started they loved it. My mom made it in after the show and it started to rain a bit. We did the muppets (which the boys were very excited about). We tried to catch the parade but because of the rain they canceled the parade. The rain stopped so we tried to go on the Honey I shrunk the kids playset (we had promised them the day before that we could come back and do it today) but it was wet so they wouldn't let anyone on. When we came out of muppets we noticed the Phineas and Ferb movie set and meet and greet. There was only 2 families in the line so we started to get in line when they told us that they were going on break and would be back in 30 minutes. We weren't waiting around so we stood the kids off to the side and took this picture. Notice Perry in the background over the fence.
We went to the art of animation show while I sent matt to get FP for tower of terror. That show was pretty cool. They really enjoyed watching the people draw afterwards. By this time it was time to go for an early dinner (4:10) at Mama Melrose (we got the Fantasmic Dining package). Of course it was raining again, which meant people were lingering again which meant we got seated closer to 4:45. Good food and good dessert. The boys had pizza (again) but I had some yummy pasta and matt had steak. Plus appetizer and dessert (because of the package). They gave us our tickets for the special seating at Fantasmic and we still had about 1.5 hours to kill before the ride. Stacy, Tim, Matt and I went over to ride single rider on Rock and Rollercoaster while my parents took the kids on the Great Movie ride. We "young" adults got all the way to the part of the line where they line you up for the cars, and the ride broke down. As single riders we were only in line about 20 minutes (the standby line was about 70 minutes). But they gave everyone fastpasses for anytime that evening so we were happy. We met up with my parents and the kids and went over to Tower of Terror. Nicholas and Logan were most scared in the line while they give their spiel about people being electrocuted in the elevator. Then when the ride started going up and down and up and down, Nathan and Connor were the ones who were asking when it was going to stop. Nicholas and logan liked that part the best. That was one of the rides they said they liked but they never have to go on it again. We'll see if they change their minds as they get older. We hit the bathroom and then headed to the Fantasmic dining package entrance (near Beauty and the Beast). WE got there around 8:20 for the 9:00 show. The seats are on the right hand side but since we got there early we were just off of center. This is us waiting for Fantasmic to start. It was a great show. I think the best one. Since Nathan was really into Mickey fighting the dragon before we even got there, he just loved this show. The rain held off for us. I read later on a chat group that about a month before the dragon wasn't working, but it worked that night and we just really enjoyed ourselves.
Mom and dad took the kids and started slowly making their way towards the exit and the buses back to the contemporary. Stacy, Tim Matt and I took our fast passes and road Rock and Rollercoaster. This is an AWESOME rollercoaster. One of the best rollercoasters around I think. So smooth and fun. We headed out and were probably about 20 minutes behind them getting home. Great Hollywood studios Day.
