We had a great weekend! My parents, stacy, connor and logan came up for the weekend. It was absolutely beautiful weather. On Saturday we went to Lake Compounce ( a local amusement park). There were a whole bunch of age appropriate rides for connor and nathan and they had a blast. Nathan's favorite was the train... the front YELLOW car was the best. He even liked the kiddie roller coaster that we went on. And we had to sit in the front car... that little daredevil. There's a water slide area too with little slides for youngsters. Nathan and Connor had a great time playing in the water. They both went up and down those slides with no fear (until mommy missed one time and the head went under ... oops). Nicholas was not at all impressed by the cold water and screamed when one of his toes got wet. Poor thing. He's also teething so he's a bit on edge.
On sunday we were going to go to the park and then to the ocean beach. Well we did the park and after lunch Nathan and connor and logan were just beat. the fact that Nathan and connor didn't actually fall asleep until 9:45 the night before because they were giggling in Nathan's room didn't help the tiredness either. So we went home instead and got them to take naps. Sunday night matt and I went out to dinner and then to see Pirates for our 7th anniversary. I liked it.
Monday we got ready and got to the beach by about 10:00. Nathan was not so keen on the ocean but connor was running right up to the water. Then running back when the waves started chasing him. Nathan was just having a good time playing in the sand. It was a bit overcast and it was early so there weren't really many people at the beach. Which gave the boys plenty of space to run around. They really had a good time.
So all in all a great weekend. Everyone was really tired by monday afternoon. Now i need another vacation. :)
